PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the School of Math Engineering and Health Sciences (MEHS)! MEHS is one of 4 small college preparatory schools on the Sacramento High School Campus. Though we are a small school, we hold a big promise: all MEHS graduates will be accepted and prepared to succeed at 4-year colleges and universities. We make this promise because of we believe in all our students. Through hard work, determination and commitment, we will help every student fulfill the dream of a college education.

Choosing to be part of the MEHS community is a big decision. We are not a school that is easy; we believe in hard work and challenge our students, staff and families to improve everyday. It is our expectation that every student will apply and be accepted to a 4-year college or university; therefore, we hold students accountable to work at a college prep level. The work, however, is well worth the reward of success. Members of the MEHS class of 2006 were accepted to some of the most prestigious universities in the nation including UCLA, University of the Pacific, UC Santa Barbara, CSU Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, UC Davis and UC Berkeley.

Beyond preparing students for college, MEHS is a school that believes in developing positive relationships among students and staff. At MEHS a student is not lost among a huge student body. Rather, each student is a member of a small school community that is caring, respectful and supportive. Every student is an individual who is known by name and supported to pursue his or her dreams. All we ask is the commitment to continually work hard, ask for help, and improve every day.

We hope this website gives you useful information about our special school. However, it is only an introduction to our school and can not tell you everything about the opportunities that are available to all MEHS students. We encourage you to visit the school, ask questions and spend time touring our campus. While we are proud of our students and staff, what you will see is just the beginning of accomplishments to come.
