ENROLLMENT OPEN FOR 2010-2011

Sac High is currently accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year (school begins August 2, 2010). For further information on admissions, please refer to our 2010-2011 Enrollment Policy.

Important Dates:

1. Pre-enrollment period: November 2, 2009-February 26, 2010
2. Drawing day (if necessary): March 1, 2010
3. 2010-2011 school begins: August 2, 2010

Enrollment for 2009-2010

The application period for for Term 1 of the 2009-2010 school year at Sac High is still open. Enroll now! Students may also still apply for Term 2 (begins January 5, 2010). Please refer to the 2010-2011 application (indicate Spring term 2009-2010 on application).

There is no tuition and there are no entrance requirements – An essay, transcripts and test scores required for application process, but are not used to determine eligibility for enrolling in Sac High.  These documents are necessary for scheduling purposes and records.

There are no district boundaries – A student may attend Sac High regardless of the location of his/her residence.

HOW TO APPLY

Complete the Sac High application:

• All fields must be completed
• Must include parent/guardian signature
• Student essay (see last page of application)
• Indicate 1st and 2nd choice of small schools (Click here to read about our four small schools)

Submit required documents:

• Copy of official birth certificate
• Copy of immunization records
• Mailing address verification (i.e., copy of PG&E or SMUD bill)
• Transcript from current/previous high school (10th - 12th grade only)
• Behavior/Discipline record from current school
• Uniform Policy and Commitment to Excellence Contract signed by student (attached to application)
• Copy of current IEP/504 plan (Special Education students only)
• CAHSEE scores (if entering as 11th/12th grader)
• STAR/CST scores
• CELDT scores (if ELL or have taken in past 2 years)
• Proof of guardianship (if other than birth parent)

OPEN HOUSES

Open Houses allow potential students and their parents/guardians to learn more about Sac High from our principals, staff and students. Through presentations, Q&A sessions, one-on-one discussions, and informational tables, you will be able to learn about:

The small schools/small learning communities structure
Our college-going culture – AP classes, college visits, SAT/ACT prep
Academic achievement at Sac High
Clubs, activities, art and athletics
Graduating from Sac High
The campus through guided campus tours

SCHOOL TOURS

Individual tours of the school may be arranged by emailing your preferred tour day and time, or by calling the Student Recruitment Hotline at 916-649-7910.

SHADOW DAYS

Shadow days at Sac High allow potential students the opportunity to experience life as a Sac High Dragon.  A current Sac High student enrolled in the small school of the potential student's interest will be assigned to serve as the guide for the morning.

Shadow days are offered on Wednesdays (7:30am to 10:00am) and Fridays (7:30am to 10:30am) during the school year (as classes are in session).  Students will meet our Small School Senate and Student Activities Director, attend class, including our Advisory class, have a tour of the school, and meet with school staff to answer any additional questions.

All students must follow the Sac High dress code during the shadow day.  

To schedule a shadow day please call the Student Recruitment Hotline at 916-649-7910.  Shadow days require a minimum 1 week advance notice to schedule. 

You will receive a confirmation call with more information prior to the shadow day.
